Academic Support

Good Shepherd is a unique community of learners and our goal is to develop and foster every individual in our care.

At Good Shepherd Lutheran College, our Learning Enrichment team is committed to providing inclusive, accessible, and supportive learning opportunities for all students. A central focus of our approach is the intentional design of learning support strategies that respond to the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of our students.

We believe that every learner deserves equitable access to education and the opportunity to achieve their personal best. Our approach ensures that students’ learning needs are met within a caring, nurturing environment. We encourage students to actively engage in their learning journey, developing confidence and capacity at their own pace.

We understand that students learn at different rates and in different ways. Our Learning Enrichment team works collaboratively with classroom teachers to support student needs and provide targeted assistance through a range of specialised services including:

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate adjustments are in place to enable students with additional needs to access the curriculum on the same basis as their peers
  • Identifying and assessing students with learning needs and referring students for further assessment where required
  • Developing and implementing Individual Support Plans and Learner Profiles and regularly monitoring and reviewing these plans
  • Collecting and submitting NCCD documentation to support funding for students with disabilities
  • Working alongside teachers to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate adjusted curriculum
  • Supporting inclusive classroom practice through in‑class differentiation
