Triathlon

A hugely popular sport choice for our young up and coming athletes. With so much variety and buzz to the sport of triathlon it attracts much interest from ages seven right up to our 17 year old students who participate in the adult competition. Good Shepherd have more than 50 students entering the Super Kids Triathlon each year and many more entering different triathlon events, as well as aquathlon and run swim run events all over the Sunshine Coast. In 2018 Good Shepherd successfully won the All School trophy for the Noosa Triathlon ‘Aquathlon’ event.

Coaching /Player Development

Good Shepherd has been coaching triathlon since 2009 and has grown dramatically over the past ten years. Our Head of Junior sport, Ms Yolanda Brady, successfully trains over 35 students each year in preparation for the Super Kids Triathlon event held here in Noosa. With many students going on to pursue their passion in other triathlon events all over the Sunshine Coast. Our very own swim coaches Peter Diamond and Brian Steer train our swimmers for the ocean swim and run swim run events for both Noosa Triathlon and Mooloolaba Triathlon, as well as many smaller events between Noosa and Brisbane. Training sessions start early September and continue through to early November. Our older students from ages 13-19 compete strongly in District, Regional and State level school competition with many placing in their age group.
