Year 10 - GOOGA - Outdoor Education
This is a four week 'Outward Bound' style camp experience. There is the expectation that all Year 10 students attend the entire camp.
- Three day 'unaccompanied' hike
- Three day 'unaccompanied' pioneering experience (small groups build their own shelters using provided tarps, poles, rope, etc)
- Various high rope activities
There is a focus on developing the individual spiritually, emotionally, socially and physically through a team building, initiatives-based program and self-reliance, confidence and esteem building. Given that Googa is now going ahead, you will find the attached information booklet extremely useful when discussing your family preparations leading up to the day of departure. Please read through with your son or daughter.
The video link introduces Brad Teakle and other members of the Googa team. Please watch this as it covers a number of significant Googa matters and expectations.
Contact the College Googa Coordinator, Mr Dave Palmer, if you have any questions or concerns about any element of the Googa program.
