Good Shepherd is a co-educational Prep to Year 12 Lutheran College that serves the families of the breathtakingly beautiful Noosa district on the Sunshine Coast. Centrally located 130kms from the Brisbane CBD, Good Shepherd Lutheran College is situated on a 9.5 hectare campus. The College has a total enrolment of approximately 1130 students. Our College is part of the ministry of The Lutheran Church in Queensland and has strong ties to the Noosa Lutheran Parish. School Support Officer - Sports Administration

Permanent 35 hours per week / 39 weeks a year (school-term time)

Commencing Term 4, 2025 with an immediate or negotiated start date.

The School Support Officer- Sports Administration is part of the College Sport /HPE Team and is involved in the ongoing support of College sporting and curriculum programs in Years P-12. The role is critical in the support of staff in the preparation, delivery and communication of sporting/HPE activities for the College. You will be a key member of the team, along with another Support Officer, in the support of growing needs in a vibrant and busy department.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Applicants are requested to present a written response to the key selection criteria below when this position is advertised:

  • Experience in a similar role or role with transferable skills.
  • A passion for sport and capacity to encourage and support the organisation of sport programs and encourage participation.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office and capacity to learn new systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to relate to young people in a positive, respectful and supportive manner, upholding the values of the College.

Learning Enrichment Teachers Aide- Years 6-12

Applicants are invited to apply for full-time permanent and 12-month contract positions working in our Learning Enrichment department to support students in Years 6-12 with identified learning needs, including ASD and ADHD. Applicants with specialisations in supporting students with ASD are particularly encouraged to apply.

These are full-time positions (5 days per week, term time) with a start date in January 2026.

Reporting to the Head of Learning Enrichment 6-12, you will provide assistance to students with special learning needs and capabilities in order to optimise student learning outcomes. You will work in close collaboration with the classroom teacher, positively participating in activities, assisting, and encouraging students where appropriate. This may include individually or in small groups, with activities as part of inclusive teaching and learning practices, supporting teachers with behaviour management and the development of social skills and classroom skills development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Follow lesson plans using discretion and judgement. Be able to react to teaching situations by modifying procedures and practices to reflect individual needs so as to improve student outcomes.
  • Work with students to identify areas of concern and liaise with appropriate staff for follow-up action. Including using initiative to give advice on the differentiation of classwork and assessment tasks for students.
  • Understand student's background and relevant identified learning difficulties in order to provide assistance needed.
  • At all times, promote the self-esteem and well-being of learning support students.
  • Use our LMS for updating of Learning Enrichment databases, sourcing games/activities, preparing resources and research.
  • Assist teaching staff on excursions and sporting events (as required).

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Experience working in a learning support environment and with students on the ASD spectrum.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (i.e., Certificate III (or above) in Education Support and/or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Current clearance to work with children (Working With Children Check -WWCC).
  • Current First Aid Certificate (desirable).
  • Understanding of a range learning styles/challenges, including ASD and ADHD
  • A passion for the education and care for children and a strong desire to work within a collaborative environment.
  • The ability to promote a positive, nurturing and supportive environment where all are valued and facilitate an inclusive program that is tailored to the needs of the children and community.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Broad knowledge of the learning difficulties/disabilities to ensure students receive appropriate adjustments and support.
  • Understanding of school and classroom procedures, including lesson plans and curriculum (Years 6-9) and to communicate this information to students.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in ICT, ability to apply this knowledge in changing situations and supervise the students in the use and operation of devices and software.

Casual & Permanent Bus Driver

Position Classification: Level 2(a) – Schedule 12

Position Status: Casual & Permanent Opportunities

Accountability: Head of Operations

Date of Preparation: 14 April 2023

Hours of Duty:

Approximate hours of duty are 6.30 am to 8.30 am and 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm for the Scheduled School Runs as needed. On occasions, other driving commitments will be required as the need arises.

Key Position Objective:

To provide a safe, secure and punctual transition between the student's home and the College, and to and from all other venues.

Position Statement

The position supports the transporting of students between school and bus stops near the students’ homes and the College’s educational service with transport to excursions and other activities.

The College operates a permanent bus service on six separate routes within the Noosa and Sunshine Coast local government areas.

Uniform:

The college will supply polo shirts and a jacket (winter only) that must be worn whenever driving buses. Drivers will need to wear neat casual attire, with either safety boots or enclosed non-slip shoes at all times whilst driving buses.

Workplace Health and Safety

All staff will strive to create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by working safely, adhering to instructions and using the equipment provided in accordance with safe operating procedures.

Selection Criteria

  • Driver’s Licence Class MR or higher
  • Driver’s Authorisation Card that meets QLD Government requirements;
  • Satisfy the requirements of the Queensland Commissioner for Children and Young People Act 1998, Employment Screening Provisions, including the successful retention of a suitability “Blue Card”

Position Responsibilities

  • To provide a punctual and safe passage for College students to and from the College, and to and from all other venues;
  • To assist the Teachers and Students of the college during outings and at all times provide courteous, caring customer service;
  • Internal cleaning of the bus after use;
  • Participate in paid College training activities (All staff training days, first aid sessions, child safety training, scheduled transport meetings etc.).
