About us
Good Shepherd is a co-educational Prep to Year 12 Lutheran College that serves the families of the breathtakingly beautiful Noosa district on the Sunshine Coast. Centrally located 130kms from the Brisbane CBD, Good Shepherd Lutheran College is situated on a 9.5 hectare campus. The College has a total enrolment of approximately 1110 students. Our College is part of the ministry of The Lutheran Church in Queensland and has strong ties to the Noosa Lutheran Parish. Good Shepherd has built a recognised record of both academic success and Christian care.

Contract - Years 8-12 Classroom Music

Teachers who are able demonstrate a passion for teaching Music are encouraged to apply for this FTE contract position to cover 12 months of maternity leave. Experience and expertise is required in General Music, Music Extension, and Music in Practice in Years 11 and 12, as well as a range of Middle Years Music classes.

There is also the possibility for the curriculum leadership of our Music department during this time for the right candidate.

Position commences Term 2, 2024 and concludes end of Term 1, 2025

Selection Criteria

1.Commitment to Christian Education and support of college ethos.

2.Demonstrated subject specific expertise and teaching experience in secondary (Years 8-12)

3.An understanding of the particular needs of students and demonstrated skills in meeting these needs in the context of the music classroom and in co-curricular music.

4.Demonstrated skills in and understanding of the development and implementation of units of work, including the use of documented planning and assessment procedures to ensure high standards of learning occur.

5.Demonstrated personal and interpersonal skills that strengthen effective partnerships with parents and staff.

Casual Bus Driver

Award: Queensland Lutheran Schools - Single Enterprise Agreement 2020

Position Classification: Level 2(a) – Schedule 12, $35.85 per hour

Position Status: Casual

Accountability: Head of Operations

Date of Preparation: 14 April 2023

Hours of Duty:

Approximate hours of duty are 6.30 am to 8.30 am and 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm for the Scheduled School Runs as needed. On occasions, other driving commitments will be required as the need arises.

Key Position Objective:

To provide a safe, secure and punctual transition between the students home and the College, and to and from all other venues.

Position Statement

The position supports the transporting of students between school and bus stops near the students’ homes and the College’s educational service with transport to excursions and other activities.

The College operates a permanent bus service on six separate routes within the Noosa and Sunshine Coast local government areas.

Uniform:

The college will supply polo shirts, jacket (winter only) and ball cap, and must be worn whenever driving buses. Drivers will need to wear neat casual attire, with either safety boots or enclosed non-slip shoes at all times whilst driving buses.

Workplace Health and Safety

All staff will strive to create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by working safely, adhering to instructions and using the equipment provided in accordance with safe operating procedures.

Selection Criteria

  • Driver’s Licence Class MR or higher
  • Driver’s Authorisation Card that meets QLD Government requirements;
  • Ability to establish good rapport with students between the ages of 5 to 18;
  • Flexibility, good organisational skills and a methodical approach to tasks;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict resolution and negotiation;
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality customer service and continuous improvement strategies;
  • Satisfy the requirements of the Queensland Commissioner for Children and Young People Act 1998, Employment Screening Provisions, including the successful retention of a suitability “Blue Card”; and
  • Current First Aid Certificate, including CPR is recommended.

Position Responsibilities

  • To provide a punctual and safe passage for College students to and from the College, and to and from all other venues;
  • To assist the Teachers and Students of the college during outings and at all times provide courteous, caring customer service;
  • Internal cleaning of the bus after use;
  • Participate in College training activities (All staff training days, first aid sessions, child safety training, scheduled transport meetings etc.).

Transport Compliance

  • Ensure that both a drivers licence and Qld Transport Driver’s Authority remains current at all times;
  • Ensure that scheduled driver training is completed and signed off each year;
  • Ensure the bus code of conduct is administered, to maintain students behaviour whilst travelling, reporting all infringements to the relevant teaching coordinators at the College;
  • Be responsible for the daily safety check on the bus, maintenance of fuel oil, Ad Blue levels where applicable, and water levels. Report any faults on the defect report form and to keep and sign a daily maintenance sheet;
  • Maintain relevant Transport log books and statistics; and
  • Report and log any incidents (or near misses) or complaints, using the required form
